Croydon Concert Band performed at Lilydale Heights College

On Saturday 30 May, the Croydon Concert Band performed at the Performing Arts Centre at Lilydale College.

Under the guidance of Musical Director Andrea Crompton and Associate Conductor Scott Huddleston, the band presented a varied program featuring some of their favourite music, from Scottish melodies to arrangements of iconic Australian classics, including Peter Allen’s I Still Call Australia Home and John Farnham’s You’re the Voice.

A highlight of the afternoon was a pair of jazz duets performed by two of the band’s younger members, Charlie and Flynn, on trombone and guitar. Their musicianship and confidence delighted the audience, and the band is fortunate to have such talented young performers among its ranks.

Continuing what has become a tradition for the band, the concert also featured afternoon tea during the interval, providing an opportunity for audience members and musicians to socialise and enjoy the community spirit that is such an important part of the band.
